Our trip to Spearfish, SD
We finally made our first trip Spearfish, SD to visit John Luke and Sadie.
It was a 10 and a half hour trip. We traveled all the way across Nebraska, and
halfway across South Dakota. The most challenging part was stopping about every hour to let Tayla go potty, she did great on the trip.
Rapid City is only about 45 minutes away so we got the opportunity
to lots of fun stuff there. We went to Reptile Gardens and Story book Island.
Clayton and John Luke had the opportunity to play some golf… which Clay
loved and the girls got to go shopping. Downtown Spearfish is really neat and had lots of unique stores and boutiques. Spearfish has beautiful scenery and we had a GREAT time. It was a great way to spend our Memorial weekend.

Father's Day Ideas
Shirt tales
"Each Father's Day, my daughters decorate a white T-shirt with their handprints and footprints. Sometimes the prints look like they're walking up his back, and other times they go on the sleeve. That way, 'When Daddy looks either way, he can always see our prints.' "
— Bethany D'Abrosca, mother of Brya, 5, and Lexi, 2, Carrollton, Texas
A family book club
"Every Father's Day, I buy my husband a book to read to our daughters, like Butterfly Kisses or My First Little Mother Goose. They love being read to, and he loves reading to them."
— Kerry Moen, mother of Brenna, 2, and Katie-Jayne, 1, Bemidji, Minnesota
Picture day
"I take a picture of my children holding a 'Happy Father's Day' sign. Their dad keeps the pictures in a small photo album. When he adds his new photo each year, he looks back at the old ones to see how the kids are growing."
— April Crevani, mother of Matthew, 3 1/2, and Christopher, 9 months, Lincoln Park, New Jersey
Personalized poetry
"I write a poem for my husband 'from' our son (who I hope will take over this task when he's older). I try to incorporate the things they did together throughout the year. Last year's poem read, 'This year marks Father's Day number two that I am happy to share with you...' It's a much more memorable keepsake than a card."
— Melissa Holy, mother of Dylan, 2, Baltimore, Maryland
Strawberry soiree
"We pack a picnic basket and head out to pick strawberries. Guess what we have for dessert?"
— Tracey Schack-Zambrotta, mother of Audrey, 5, Long Island, New York
A day at the races
"Every year, we treat my husband, his brother, and his brother-in-law to a day at the racetrack. This year, they're checking out the view from the $200 seats — all they can eat and drink, private bathrooms, and they even get to go into the pits."
— Carolyn Kerry, mother of Marissa, 5, and Bailey, 2 1/2, Kunkletown, Pennsylvania
Crazy for quilts
"Every Father's Day, we dip the kids' feet and hands into fabric paint and stamp them onto fabric squares. I add their names and the date with a fabric pen. When we have enough squares, I plan to make a quilt for my husband. His hospital shirt with our kids' first footprints will be the center, and the squares will show how they've grown."
— Erin Ruddick, mother of 3-year-old twins, Read and JP, Warren, Rhode Island
A breakfast break
"Our daughters treat their father to breakfast at a restaurant of his choice with money they've saved from chores and good grades."
— Ilka M., mother of Freddrianna, 9, Myesha, 7, Tavonda, 4, and Tyrese, 6 months
A walk in the park
"Every Father's Day, my husband takes the kids for a two-hour walk to the park, which he videotapes. The video gives a verbal update on how old the kids are and what they're busy with. They always come back laughing!"
— Yvette O'Reilly, mother of Colton, 8, Nolan, 5, Chase, 3, Owen, 1, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Picture perfect
"We have a family reunion every Father's Day, and we always have pictures taken. We get family pictures, 'generation' pictures, and pictures of all the grandkids and great-great-grandkids."
— Susan Jones, mother of Ashlei, 6, and Matthew, 2 days, Vancouver, Washington
Camp it up
"Father's Day camping is something we look forward to all year. Rain or shine, we're there!"
— Barbara Pires, mother of Kaitlin, 4 1/2, and Kylie, 7 months, Elk Grove, California
King for a day
"We make Dad 'king for the day.' He even wears a crown made by his girls!"
— Anonymous
Memory magic
"I make a page for his very own memory book. I include pictures of the year's greatest 'dad' moments, like the first time he held his son or digging in the sand for shells with his little girl. He loves it, and he doesn't have to search through the entire family album to find the good stuff."
— Karen Kincaid, mother of Anna, 5, and Jake, 1, Stanley, North Carolina

Summer is on its way!
During the Summer our favorite thing to do is be outside working in the yard.
Since we dont have a yard...Tayla's favorite thing to do is play in the mud. Which resulted in an out door sponge bath before she came inside. We are hoping to get sod laid in middle to late June.

Mother's Day
Mother’s Day!
I had a GREAT Mother’s Day! We had a BBQ at our house. My
grandparents, mom and my brother joined us. After the BBQ my mom and I went
flower shopping. We picked up a tree, 4 bushed and about 15 different types of
annual flowers for our front yard. I am
looking forward to planting them the beginning of this week.
Tayla loves her Nana! Happy Nana's Day!
4 Generations on Mothers Day!
My Mother's Day Gift that Tayla made at Judy's.
If you look close you will notice that each finger has glittery
finger nail polish per Tayla’s request. Only my daughter would request that
each nail be polished, love my little princess!
