Tayla's First Hunt

Today at daycare they had an Easter Egg hunt for the kids. Judy and Bob stuffed over 400 Easter Eggs and scattered them through out there backyard. The kids had a blast! Tayla collected ( with Mommy and Daddy's help) a full basket of eggs. We are blessed to have Judy (and Bob part-time) as Tayla's sitter!
Happy Easter Everyone!

Oink.. Oink!

One of Tayla’s favorite things to do is play outside! Since the weather is getting nice and Spring is in the air we have been spending lots of evening outside. The other night I picked up Tayla and we were getting ready to go in for the evening. She was covered in sand and was sweating like crazy. (She sweats really easy like her Daddy) When I picked her up I said “Wow Tayla you are sweating like a pig.” She looked at me with her dirt covered face and said “oink oink mommy.” It was hilarious! Below are pictures of her after we got inside… I striped her clothes because she was so hot. She was walking around the house saying … “I nakey Mommy (meaning naked)!”

Surprise Ge Ge!

Last weekend myself, Tayla and my mom traveled to Denver for the weekend to celebrate Ge Ge (Grandma Heads- Clay’s side) 85th Birthday party. It was a surprise party at Bob and Caryl’s house. We had a great time and Ge Ge was so excited. She is such a sweet lady and it was great to see the joy on her face just having the family together. Tayla enjoyed the time with her Papa and Grammy Hering.

I would have to say she has got it together and looks GREAT at 85. Happy 85th Birthday Ge Ge!

"Tayla… where is the screw?”

On Sunday afternoon, (a very snowing afternoon)Tayla and I decided to take apart her baby bed and turn it into a toddler bed. We took on this project while daddy was at the hospital doing clinicals. We took everything apart and started putting it back together, I then noticed I was missing a screw. Looking around Tayla’s room I could not find the screw so after about 20 minutes of looking I asked Tayla, “Tayla where is the screw, mommy needs it to finish putting together your bed.” Without saying a word (which is unusual for her) she marched out to the living room and over to the coffee table where she had placed the screw on a coaster. “here go mommy!” and she handed me the screw. She really enjoyed helping take apart and put together the bed. On the agenda for the next couple weeks is redoing her bedding. Oddly enough my inspiration for Tayla’s new bedding came for a pretty blue pillow from Wal-Mart. Currently I am working on sewing the curtains and the bed shirt… more to come! For first nap in her new toddler bed! :)

Happy 80th Grandpa!

On Saturday, January 29th the Pfannenstiel family gathered to celebrate Grandpa Meft’s 80th Birthday day! The weather was beautiful and the kids enjoyed playing outside. Grandpa looks and does great for 80. He is very active (sometimes too active) and enjoys fishing, working in the garden, cooking, watching sports on TV and working in his shop. One of his favorite places to be is outside on his back deck with a red beer enjoying the 100 degree weather. Grandpa is a great guy… I would say one of the important live lessons that I have learned from his is “always return things to there proper place and leave things better than you found them.” For those of you who know grandpa he is a neat freak and everything has a place. Happy 80th Birthday Grandpa, We love you!!
